PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Thanks God for guiding me to become a part of Shau Kei Wan Methodist Kindergarten. It is certainly an honour that I treasure immensely.

Over the past years, our school has resolutely upheld the school mission: “To develop whole-person education based on the spirit of Christ; and to nurture and enrich students' life through the preaching of the Gospel.” It is in this spirit that we contribute to a harmonious, friendly and lively learning environment where children are encouraged to learn independently, worship God, love their fellows and embrace the beauty of life. As school, not only do we deliver academic knowledge, but also care about the psychological development of children. Therefore, we have devised the Life Education curriculum which allows pupils to develop a better understanding and self-recognition of themselves. This nurtures them to grow with positive value, compassion and the ability to respect others. On top of that, we have endeavored to arrange a variety of visits for our students. Through observation, sharing and exploration, we hope that their horizons will be widen and that their learning ability will be strengthened. This is in line with our agenda of delivering a “Whole Person Education. ”

Teachers are frontline workers in education. The success of our educational system hinges on their effort. Thanks God for giving the school a group of compassionate teachers. They are energetic, driven, and responsible. They are committed in teaching, eager to learn, and always prepared to equip themselves. But most importantly, they are courageous and confident enough to espouse the obligation to teach what the Holy God passed to us.

Moving to a new era, parents have taken up an increasingly essential role. Apart from volunteering for the school’s daily operation, they have also established the Parents and Teachers Association in September, 2008. In collaboration with them, the school has organized several family activities. Working with parents in a close and selfless manner, we aspire to strengthen the communication between the two parties and facilitate children’s learning and mental development.

Since the school was founded, it has garnered a satisfactory reputation within the community. That said, there is no room for us to be self-fulfilled. Setting our eyes on the future, we assure you that we will do our utmost to improve and continue to station at our role of teaching. We promise you that we will bear the duty of raising our future social pillars. We will make use of every opportunity and overcome every challenge ahead of us and deliver the best education for our future generation.
